Neuro Occupational Therapist - Clinic/Adult - Newcastle, NSWJob Type: Permanent position | Full time positionJob DescriptionOur client is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary health organisation providing innovative, engaging and highly successful rehabilitation programs.
About the Practice A well-established health business in the Hunter region and well known as an innovative dynamic health business recently winning several health innovation/business awards and a federal government grant to implement health services into regional and rural regions.We support clients requiring complex rehabilitation with a client base that is dynamic and diverse, treating a range of conditions including Stroke, Parkinsons Disease, Muscular Sclerosis, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injuries, Oncology, Respiratory disorders and others.

Work with cutting edge technology such as virtual reality and augmented reality with clients in the clinic and using VR telehealth to access regional clients as well.Huge variety of clients of all ages and complex conditions with referrals coming from local Specialists, General Practitioners, the Public Health system and a significant word of mouth referral base.

Career development is supported and encouraged in the form of clinical leadership and didactic learning via professional bodies.Growth company offering a multitude of options for advancement within the company across a range of roles About the role Start your day with a 5-10min team huddleClients are generally seen hourly with access to multiple private treatments rooms, large, air-conditioned gym and an extensive range of equipment and technology such as the virtual reality headsets.
Work closely with an experienced multi-disciplinary team that offers a challenging but extremely supportive work environment.A Typical Day Might Include: Clinic-Based Appointments: Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions focusing on ADL rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and upper limb retraining using virtual reality tools and traditional methods.Assistive Technology Trials: Evaluate and trial equipment, including wheelchair seating, mobility aids, and adaptive equipment to ensure clients receive the most appropriate devices for their needs.
ADL Rehabilitation: Work with clients on self-care activities like dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and home management tasks, aiming to enhance independence and daily functioning.
Cognitive Rehabilitation: Develop tailored interventions to improve cognitive function, executive skills, and problem-solving abilities for individuals with conditions such as brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson's disease.Home Visits: Conduct home assessments
