Our products can be found throughout the Australian and international mining, construction, and industrial sectors.
NEPEAN Power is also level 3 Service Providers (ASP3) for designing distribution works in NSW.We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for Electroplaters to be based at our NSW Office.
We offer full-time permanent employment and short-term 3-6 months' non-ongoing contracts.
Key Responsibilities:Surface Preparation: Cleaning, degreasing, pickling, and etching metal parts to remove rust, scale, and oil, ensuring proper coating adhesionProcess Control: Setting up and operating plating machinery, including adjusting electrical currents (voltage/amperage), temperature,
and immersion timesChemical Management: Preparing, monitoring, and maintaining electrolytic solutions to the objects to be coated.Test and adjust plating solutions to maintain desired specificationsQuality Inspection: Inspecting finished products for defects (e.g., bubbles, uneven coverage) and measuring coating thickness using tools like micrometersEquipment Maintenance: Cleaning tanks, maintaining hoists, and repairing machinery, such as replacing anodes or cleaning ventilation systemsSafety Compliance: Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations (PPE, chemical handling) due to exposure to hazardous materials and high temperaturesRequired Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities: Must have at least 3+ years of working experience in metal finishing or manufacturing environmentsRelevant trade qualificationsStrong technical knowledge and understanding of metallurgy, chemical reactions, and corrosion protectionKnowledge of electroplating/ galvanising techniques and processesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsPhysical ability to lift heavy metal products and operate machineryAttention to Detail: Precision in monitoring, and inspecting to meet strict quality standardsExperience in maintaining electroplating/ galvanising equipment and troubleshooting issuesStrong knowledge of hazardous materials and safety equipment (respirators, protective clothing)Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentNEPEAN believes in diversity and is committed to providing Equal Employment opportunities for all applicants.
