We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic catering operations team based at Sydney Airport.
This is a fast-paced role critical to ensuring the seamless supply of goods, supporting production demands, and maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.About UsPart of the Emirates Group, we are Australia's largest inflight catering and retail partner.
We operate 13 facilities across 10 cities, employ over 4,000 people, produce over 47 million meals, and service more than 250,000 flights annually.About the RoleAs a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for purchasing, receiving, and managing stock to meet operational demands.
You will play a key role in maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting efficient catering operations in an airport environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage purchase orders and supplier relationshipsCoordinate deliveries with production and kitchen teamsMonitor stock levels, rotation, and storageEnsure all goods meet quality, hygiene,



and safety standardsTrack expiry dates and minimise wastageConduct stocktakes and maintain accurate recordsResolve delivery discrepancies and supplier issuesMaintain clean and organised storage areasEnsure compliance with food safety and WHS requirementsSupport cost-effective purchasing and continuous improvementAbout YouPrevious experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chainStrong attention to detail and time management skillsAbility to work across multiple departments in a quick-paced environmentConfident using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Outlook)Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, QSAI, WHS) is highly regardedExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsAirline catering or food industry experience is advantageousWhat's in it for you?
