The Role
Accounting Assistant role to assist the Finance Department in achieving its objectives by recording and maintaining the accounting records of the agency in accordance with the Australian Accounting Standards and Finance procedures, the position requires adherence to strict reporting deadlines to the Chief Financial Officer.
The role will also involve providing finance administration support across coordination of maintenance, purchasing, contractor management, insurance claims and related agency requirements.
A Few Specifics
Entering creditors' invoices on the accounting software to be ready for the weekly and monthly payment runs.Reconciling Sole Traders' accounts and preparing their monthly superannuation payments.Reconciling credit card statements monthly, entering the corresponding journals on the accounting software and ensuring that all receipts are accounted for.Assisting the Finance Team with any additional duties relevant to the operation of the Finance section as and when required.
Selection Criteria
Certificate III in Accounts Administration, Cert IV in Accounting or Bachelor of Accounting.Minimum 1-2 years' experience working in an accounting, bookkeeping office setting.Fast and accurate data entry and high attention to detail.High level proficiency in all Microsoft Office suites.




Ability to schedule and prioritise workload.Previous experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is desirableExperience managing insurance claims.National Police Certificate (within 12 months' validity).
Work rights for Australia.
