About the role
We're looking for a Civil Leading Hand to provide hands-on leadership while supporting the delivery of residential and commercial civil projects across the ACT.
Working closely with the Site Supervisor, you'll coordinate daily site operations, lead and mentor site crews, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
As the second-in-command on site, you'll step into the Site Supervisor role when required to maintain workflow and project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing:
Plan and coordinate daily site activities to keep projects running safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Allocate labour, plant, materials and equipment to meet project requirements.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure works are completed to the required standard.
Monitor site progress, identify issues early and implement practical solutions to maintain productivity.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site crews to support smooth project delivery.
Ensure plant, tools and equipment are operated safely and maintained in valuable working order.
Complete site documentation, including pre-starts, safety inspections and project records.
Promote a strong safety culture by participating in toolbox talks and ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements.
What You Need to Succeed




Minimum 3 years' experience in Civil and Hydraulics construction with demonstrated Leading Hand or supervisory experience.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Sound knowledge of civil construction methods, plant and equipment.
Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to maintaining safe work practices and leading by example.
White Card, Asbestos and Silica Awareness, and a current ACT Driver Licence.
Senior First Aid qualification and relevant plant tickets are highly regarded.
