About the opportunity
Boton Guinea
is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent – Conveyor Maintenance to support conveyor belt maintenance and associated services on a 6/3 roster at the
Simandou Mine Processing Plant in Guinea
.
This is a senior, site-based leadership role responsible for the safe and effective day-to-day execution of conveyor belt maintenance, inspection, repair, splicing, component support and breakdown-response activities.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will lead supervisors, leading hands, trade crews and field-support personnel while ensuring work is properly planned, resourced, controlled and completed to the required safety, quality and productivity standards.
Key responsibilities
You will:
Translate approved maintenance plans into executable daily and weekly work fronts.
Coordinate scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, belt splicing and breakdown support.
Maintain appropriate core-crew, after-hours and escalation coverage.
Allocate supervisors, leading hands and crews according to competency, risk and work priority.
Review conveyor defects, belt damage, tracking issues, splice condition, cleaners, skirts, pulleys and lagging.
Determine practical repair strategies and escalate engineering requirements where necessary.
Ensure vulcanising equipment, splice environments and quality hold points are correctly managed.
Coordinate work orders, access, parts, permits, isolations and close-out requirements.
Maintain field action registers, constraints logs and effective shift handovers.
Coach supervisors and employees to maintain consistent technical and behavioural standards.
Enforce fatigue-management,



PPE, housekeeping, timekeeping and conduct requirements.
Support the development and progression of Guinean employees.
About you
You will have:
At least eight years' conveyor belt maintenance experience.
Strong experience in belt change-outs, splicing, repairs, inspections and shutdown work.
A mechanical trade qualification, conveyor-specialist background or equivalent fixed-plant qualification.
Previous senior supervisory or superintendent-level experience.
Strong knowledge of conveyor belts, splices, pulleys, idlers, cleaners, skirts, tracking systems, take-ups and drives.
Experience planning manpower, equipment, cranes, permits, isolations and shutdown activities.
Strong understanding of critical-risk controls and safe isolation practices.
Experience with SAP, RTBS or comparable maintenance-management systems.
Strong written reporting and shift-handover capability.
Skilled working proficiency in English.
French-language capability will be highly regarded, particularly for local workforce communication, coaching and training.

Company and client mobilisation approval.
