A practice designed so psychologists can focus on being psychologists.
There are many excellent psychology practices.
Some are fast-paced.
Some specialise in particular treatment approaches.
Some simply provide rooms and referrals.
At Sound Psychology we've intentionally built something a little different.
We've designed a practice where thoughtful clinical work comes first.
Where psychologists are supported by strong systems, 30 years of clinical experience and experienced leadership, and genuine administrative assistance.
Where sustainable workloads and burnout prevention aren't simply talked about—they're built into the working week.
5-client session day
Protected and diarised admin time
Full admin support
Well established structured systems and procedures
Established referral base
Regular supervision
Flexible diary
Neuropsych assessment opportunities
Group development and clinical program development opportunities
If you're looking for a practice where you can do your best work without carrying the weight of everything else, we'd love to tell you more.
What your working week looks like
We believe psychologists provide their best therapy when they have the time and space to think well.
That's why our clinicians enjoy:
A maximum of five client sessions per day
90 minutes of protected administration time built into every working day
The flexibility to adjust their diary when additional time is needed for report writing, assessments, professional development, external supervision, clinical reading or simply thoughtful reflection
Full administrative support for appointment bookings, rescheduling, payments, reminders and client enquiries
Explicit clinical systems, templates and procedures that reduce uncertainty and help clinicians practise with confidence.
Streamlined systems for client notes, reports and clinical documentation, supported by templates, trackers and established workflows
Opportunities to undertake both therapeutic work and neuropsychological assessment
Registered psychologists are competitively remunerated based on experience,

together with superannuation and employment entitlements.
Our aim is simple:
Our goal is to remove as much unnecessary administration and cognitive load as possible, so psychologists can devote their attention to clinical thinking, therapeutic relationships and excellent client care.
"The systems and procedures meant I could focus on my clients rather than trying to work out how everything else operated."
Provisional Psychologist
That is exactly what we have been trying to achieve.
How you'll be supported
Joining Sound Psychology means joining an established practice with experienced leadership and a genuinely collaborative team.
You'll have access to:
Six-weekly professional development and peer supervision afternoons
Regular individual supervision and informal case consultation
Monthly team meetings and shared lunches
Experienced administrative staff who manage the day-to-day logistics of running the practice
Well-developed policies, procedures and clinical resources that make everyday practice clearer, more efficient and more consistent
Opportunities to contribute to psychoeducational groups, community education and the development of new clinical programs
Questions are welcomed here.
Reflection is expected.
Learning never really stops.
You'll often find colleagues dropping into one another's offices to celebrate a breakthrough, discuss a challenging presentation or simply ask,
"Can I run something past you?"

Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we've intentionally developed areas of practice where clinicians can build genuine expertise while continuing to learn from one another.
Our philosophy is simple.
Encourage curiosity.
Invite discovery.
Build capacity.
Find meaning.
These words sit on the whiteboard in Heather's office as a quiet reminder of how we hope to work—with clients, with one another and with ourselves.
The kind of psychologist who thrives here
The clinicians who flourish at Sound Psychology aren't defined by knowing all the answers.
They're defined by how they practise.
They're curious before they're certain.
They listen deeply.
They value thoughtful formulation as much as intervention.
They're comfortable with complexity and uncertainty.
They welcome feedback, continue learning and enjoy discussing therapy with colleagues who share the same commitment to good clinical work.
Experience in trauma, health psychology, women's mental health, defence, neuropsychology or life transition work is welcomed.
More importantly, we're looking for people whose values align with the way we practise.
The opportunity
Due to continued growth and recent changes within our team, we're seeking psychologists to join us.
Initially the role is available for three to four days per week, with opportunities to increase over time.
Current availability includes Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with the possibility of Saturday consulting for the right clinician.
We're happy to discuss employment or contractor arrangements, preferred working days and how we can help you build a sustainable caseload.
Perhaps this is the conversation you've been looking for
If you've found yourself reading this advertisement and thinking,
"This feels different."
We hope that's because it is.
Sound Psychology has been thoughtfully developed over many years.
We have an established local reputation, strong referral relationships and a transparent vision for the future.
If you'd like a confidential conversation before deciding whether to apply, we'd genuinely enjoy meeting you over a coffee—or tea.
Sometimes the best career decisions begin with a conversation.
