Senior Finance Analyst
Shape the financial future of Tasmania's energy network
We're looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Finance Analyst to become our lead financial modelling specialist.
This is a unique opportunity to influence some of TasNetworks' most significant investment decisions by developing sophisticated financial models that underpin long-term planning, capital investment and strategic business initiatives.
Working closely with senior leaders across the organisation, you'll provide commercial insights that support executive decision-making and contribute to the long-term financial sustainability of the business.

About The Role
As a senior member of the finance team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining best-practice financial models that support enterprise-wide decision making.
You'll combine technical excellence with commercial thinking to evaluate investment opportunities, strengthen financial capability across the business and provide trusted advice to leaders.
Working within the Corporate Finance team, you'll also contribute to treasury activities, and major strategic planning processes, ensuring financial analysis is accurate, insightful and supports sound commercial outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to -
Leading the development, enhancement and maintenance of TasNetworks' long-term financial model to assess investment risks and opportunities, capital structure and returns to Government.Developing and applying sophisticated financial and corporate models to support investment evaluations, business cases and strategic initiatives.Elevating the team's financial modelling capability by sharing expertise, coaching colleagues and strengthening commercial analysis across the business.Delivering high-quality commercial and financial insights that improve reporting, support executive decision-making and drive better business outcomes.Supporting key Corporate Finance activities, including treasury and debt management and the Investment Governance function.Assisting with the preparation of technical reports, submissions and financial analysis for the Corporate Plan, major investment proposals and other strategic initiatives.Building strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation to improve commercial understanding, solve business challenges and deliver practical, solutions-focused outcomes.
Mentoring junior team members and working collaboratively across the broader Finance team to achieve shared goals and contribute to a high-performing culture.Undertaking other duties as reasonably and lawfully directed.
About You
You're a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys analysing complex problems, developing robust financial models and influencing strategic business decisions.
You'll Bring:
Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.3+ years of relevant experienceAdvanced Excel skills with demonstrated experience developing, maintaining and enhancing complex financial models.Experience applying valuation methodologies and financial analysis to assess strategic investment opportunities.Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform complex data into meaningful commercial insights.The ability to work independently, take ownership of initiatives and deliver results.
