We are seeking an Insolvency Accountant to join our team in Bulimba.
The position can be tailored to the successful candidate's experience, aptitude and professional goals—from a supported graduate position through to a role involving responsibility for a portfolio of appointments and the supervision of work.

You will have direct access to the appointee and work closely with managers who will provide practical assistance, professional oversight and mentoring.

About the role
Your responsibilities will be matched to your experience and demonstrated capability.
Graduate and entry-level candidates will receive guidance and training while developing the technical and practical skills required to manage corporate insolvency appointments.
More experienced candidates will manage their own matters with oversight from a manager and the appointee, while assisting with larger and more complex engagements.
Your responsibilities may include:
Assisting with corporate liquidations,



voluntary administrations, deeds of company arrangement, receiverships and restructuring engagements
Managing a portfolio of corporate insolvency appointments appropriate to your experience
Reviewing company books, records and financial information
Investigating company affairs, transactions and potential recovery actions
Preparing statutory reports, reports to creditors and other correspondence
Communicating with directors, creditors, employees, advisers and other stakeholders
Monitoring statutory deadlines and responding to stakeholder enquiries
Assisting with asset identification and realisation
Preparing bank reconciliations, BAS lodgements and other statutory lodgements
Supporting court proceedings, litigation and recovery matters
Maintaining accurate case files and records
Assisting managers and the appointee with complex appointments
Guiding or reviewing the work of junior team members where appropriate
About you
We welcome applications from candidates entering the profession as well as those who have developed experience in corporate insolvency or a related accounting field.
You will ideally have:
A degree in accounting, commerce or a similar discipline
Corporate insolvency experience, although this is advantageous rather than essential
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills




High attention to detail
Transparent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to organise your workload and meet competing deadlines
Initiative, professional curiosity and a willingness to learn
Confidence working both independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
A current Australian driver licence
Unrestricted working rights in Australia
You may occasionally be required to attend business premises or other sites.
Access to your own vehicle would be advantageous, although a hire vehicle will be provided where required for an engagement.
