HillPDA is an independent property consultancy providing expert advice to government, developers, investors, institutions and private corporations across Australia.
Due to continued growth and success, an opportunity exists for an Associate or Senior Property Economist to join our Sydney Property Division.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of property and economic advisory projects spanning retail, residential, industrial, commercial, employment lands and mixed-use development sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients and project teams to deliver evidence-based insights that inform planning, investment and development decisions.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance their career by working with an established client base, developing new client relationships, and contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across metropolitan, regional and growth areas throughout Australia, supported by a highly experienced and collaborative team.
Core duties required by the role include:
Managing and undertaking a range of studies including demographics and population analysis; retail expenditure modelling; trade area definition and analysis; competitor and gap analysis; employment lands demand forecasting; economic impact assessments; economic development strategies; economic assessments; and monitoring industry trends
Assist the Principal in supervising a small team of consultants
Client and stakeholder liaison
Developing and implementing strategies for growing the firm's retail and economics services
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and
Support other team members, their education and advancement.
To be successful in this role you will need:
8+ years industry experience
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a high attention to detail
Experience in forecasting and econometric modelling
An understanding of retail economics and expenditure modelling
The ability to work autonomously to tight deadlines
Advanced Excel skills
A commitment towards continued career development
The ability to think strategically about the team and the business
A background in planning, economic planning, property economics or related discipline
Enthusiasm and skills to assist in growing the retail business
Drivers Licence
Proficient in GIS (highly desirable)
