Speech Pathologist | New Allied Health Service | NDIS and Aged CareTailor your caseload across paediatrics, young adults, NDIS and aged careUp to $15,990 salary packaging plus $2,650 for meals and entertainmentFleet cars, flexible working, five study days and funded skilled developmentThis is an exciting opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to join a growing not-for-profit allied health service as it prepares to expand into a new multidisciplinary hub.With strong demand across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, the organisation is continuing to grow its Speech Pathology services across NDIS, aged care and community settings.
You'll have the opportunity to join toward the end of **** and contribute to the future direction of the service.The position can be tailored to your preferred area of practice.
You may choose to focus predominantly on paediatrics and young adults, adult disability or aged care or maintain a mixed caseload.The CaseloadsThe Speech Pathology team supports clients across:Paediatric and young adult NDISAdult disabilityResidential aged careHome Care PackagesSchools and community environmentsThe organisation is open to clinicians who prefer a particular area of practice.
You don't need to be highly experienced across every caseload.NDIS and CommunityThe NDIS caseload may include children, adolescents and young adults requiring support with:Speech development and speech sound difficultiesStuttering and fluencyEarly interventionFunctional communicationHigh-tech and low-tech AACAssessments and reportsNDIS services are delivered within homes, schools and community settings.
Caseloads are geographically allocated wherever possible, with demand built around where each clinician lives.Aged CareThe aged care caseload includes services delivered within residential facilities and through Home Care Packages.Clinicians may have dedicated facility-based days combined with community visits.
The aged care service offers significant autonomy and does not operate with formal billable KPIs.BenefitsAs part of an established not-for-profit organisation,

Clinicians generally come together once a week for a team meeting.Administrative teams manage billing and service agreements, allowing practitioners to concentrate on clinical work rather than chasing paperwork.A New Multidisciplinary HubThe organisation is planning a larger allied health hub that will bring its NDIS and aged care teams together in one location.The new space is expected to include:Dedicated treatment and clinic roomsMultidisciplinary workspacesFleet cars based onsiteNDIS and aged care allied health teams working togetherCapacity to support significant team growthThis gives the successful clinician an opportunity to join during an important stage of development and contribute to how the future service operates.Support and OnboardingNew clinicians receive a carefully structured induction and gradual introduction to their caseload.Your onboarding will include:Approximately one week shadowing an experienced clinical leadIntroductions to the organisation's facilities and servicesOpportunities to meet staff across the different sitesA gradual introduction to clients from approximately week twoFormal check-ins at six, eight and sixteen weeksA caseload that develops according to your experience and confidenceCaseload ExpectationsWithin the NDIS service, the standard expectation is approximately 5.5 billable hours per day, with eligible travel included as billable time.Expectations are introduced gradually as the clinician develops their caseload.The aged care service does not have formal billable KPIs, allowing clinicians to structure their time around client and facility needs.LocationsOpportunities are available across:NewcastleLake MacquarieMaitlandCentral CoastMid North CoastThe strongest current NDIS demand is across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland.
Aged care services are primarily concentrated throughout Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.Fleet cars are available for work-related travel, and caseloads are allocated close to where clinicians live wherever possible.About YouYou'll be a Speech Pathologist who values meaningful outcomes, flexibility and collaborative teamwork.You'll need:A recognised qualification in Speech PathologyCurrent Speech Pathology Australia membership or eligibilityA valid driver's licenceRelevant checks required to work across NDIS, aged care and school environmentsStrong communication, organisation and time-management skillsThe confidence to work autonomously within community settingsA positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing serviceAdditional informationCommencing Late ****Newcastle & Lake MacquarieNot For Profit Salary Packaging + Pool Cars + Unlimited PD
