The Role & Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced People & Culture Manager to lead the hotel's human resources function while partnering closely with the General Manager and leadership team.
This is a true generalist role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational support across all aspects of People & Culture.
You will lead recruitment, onboarding and talent development, coach and support leaders in all areas of people management, oversee employee relations, performance management and succession planning, and drive engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
You'll play a key role in workforce planning, payroll support, HR reporting and analytics, while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, workplace policies and best-practice HR standards.
Working collaboratively across all departments, you'll also manage workers' compensation and return-to-work programs, strengthen external recruitment partnerships, develop leadership capability and foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture that supports both business success and an exceptional team member experience.
The hotel is undergoing a renovation under new ownership,
so experience in change management and in creating a culture of working in a supportive hotel environment is of great benefit.
About You
You are an experienced Human Resources professional who enjoys collaborating with operational leaders and creating positive workplace environments.
You bring strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for developing people and culture.
To be successful, you will have:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Human Resources or People & Culture leadership role with a strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace relations
Experience managing recruitment, employee relations and performance management and able to demonstrate an ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Experience using Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive matters professionally
A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach
