ALS Environmental Risk Services (part of ALS Global) is looking for practical, hands‐on tradespeople or construction professionals who are ready to take the next step away from full‐time tools and into a specialist field role.
This is not an office job.
You'll be working on active sites, conducting inspections, sampling, and testing for asbestos, and eventually other hazardous materials.
Your industry experience will be highly valued, and full training and mentoring will be provided to build your skills as a HAZMAT consultant.
If you've worked on building sites and want a long‐term career that still keeps you in the field—without swinging a hammer every day—this role is designed for you.What You'll Be Doing Day to DayCarry out on‐site inspections and sampling for asbestos (ACM), mould, meth residue, lead paint, and other hazardous materialsPerform air monitoring and clearance inspections following asbestos removal worksAccurately complete Chain of Custody (CoC) documentation for laboratory analysisPrepare and handle samples and work closely with our laboratory teamsWork alongside Senior Field Consultants, progressing daily inspection and testing schedulesRecord site findings and assist with reporting using our Octfolio digital platformSupport Environmental and OH teams as requiredProduce clear, concise reports for clients (with mentoring and peer review)Travel across Queensland and interstate, including occasional night shifts and weekendsWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking reliable, safety‐focused people who understand construction environments and can work methodically in the field.
