The Learning and Literacy Clinicis seeking a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our growing team.
If you have an interest in language, literacy and helping people overcome learning challenges, this is a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialised practice with a supportive and experienced team.
Overview
Full time (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm).
Caseload focuses on conditions affecting learning (e.g. dyslexia, DLD, ADHD, ID etc), but opportunity for variety with social communication or basic speech/language clients as well.

Start with us as an AHA
If you are a final-year Speech Pathology student,you have the opportunity to start with us as aCasual Allied Health Assistantin late ****, before moving to the full SP role at the start of **** once you graduate.
During your time as an AHA you canbecome familiar with our clinic, clients, systems and therapeutic approaches while being supported by our experienced clinicians.
A clinic that specialises inliteracy,language, and learning disorders.
Not limited to just paediatric clients.
Work with school-aged clients from P-12, and adults with learning disorders.
Work withcommon language/literacy disorders (e.g.. dyslexia, dysgraphia, DLD), and learn to view otherconditions such as ADHD and ASD through the unique lens of how they impact learning.
Compared to school-based roles with similar populations,
private practice allows for greater therapeutic intensity; leading to genuine progress.

Primary client types and services:
Children (5-18 years),university students,adults (often working professionals).
Assessment, intervention, report writing.
Example of therapies we provide:
Literacy interventions (e.g. systematic synthetic phonics, paragraph/text structure interventions, writtennarrative etc).
Language interventions (e.g. vocab instruction, spoken syntax/grammar, spokennarrative programs etc).
A small portion of the caseload can include conventional speech and language (e.g. artic, phono)and social communication.
Location and hours:
You will work at our clinic in Thornlands.
Operating hours are usually 9am-5pm Mon-Fri, however there may be some flexibility around this for the right candidate.
Ideal applicant:
Clinicians with an interest in literacy and language skillsAND/ORClinicians with prior experience with paeds, school-aged caseloads, or in the education sector.
Perfect for new-graduate or early career SP's.
Given the specialised literacy portion of the caseload, it is key that you have a very high degree of proficiency in reading and writing.
Your own natural aptitude in this area will complement the therapeutic approaches we use.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Mandatory Certifications:
Bachelor or Masters of Speech Pathology.Blue card (QLD) - Paid Employee.SPA membership.
