Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses.
They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal are embedded.
Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.Deception Bay Flexible School offers a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling.
Flexible Schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices, including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.ABOUT THE ROLEThe person occupying this position will support the Head of Campus and staff of Deception Bay Flexible School.




This person will be the face of the school at reception greeting and assisting incoming visitors, guests and families.The position reports to the Head of Campus of Deception Bay Flexible School and will:Provide administrative support to the Head of Campus and staff and assist with best model of practice at the Deception Bay Flexible SchoolComplete administrative functions for the schoolSupport effective learning and teaching programs for young people in both middle and senior phases of secondary educationContribute to the development and implementation of Deception Bay Versatile School's objectives and planningContribute to the maintenance of a supportive school environment and in particular to meet the needs of young people to support their engagement in educationMaintain communication and reporting processes with the Head of CampusOther duties as requiredABOUT YOURelevant certificate or diploma or administration experienceExperience working in a school environmentUnderstanding of service provision to marginalised young people particularly within the alternate education sectorHigh level of verbal and written communication skills, including participating in meeting processes,
