The Brassall facility hosts cricket, football, rugby, cross country and other outdoor activities and includes eight international-standard tennis courts and a clubhouse.
Ipswich Grammar School is seeking a highly organised and proactive Sports Administrator to support the delivery of our extensive co-curricular sports and activities program.
This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis, working Monday to Friday, during term time, plus four additional weeks.
Working closely with the Director of Sport and Activities, this position will provide high-level administrative and operational support across the School's sporting program, with particular responsibility for the coordination and administration of IGS Cricket.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced sporting environment, building solid relationships and coordinating the many moving parts required to deliver successful training programs,
fixtures, carnivals and sporting events.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate the administration of the IGS Cricket Program, including weekly GPS fixtures, team nominations, competition requirements and supplementary playing opportunities.
Prepare and distribute team lists, schedules, results and regular communications to players, parents, coaches, staff and opposition schools.
Assist with the recruitment, appointment, allocation and induction of coaches, ensuring all staff and volunteers meet School compliance and Child Safety requirements.
Coordinate the Prep to Year 4 Junior Cricket Development Program and provide administrative support for broader cricket initiatives.
Manage training and facility requirements, including the allocation of nets, grounds and venues, pitch preparation and liaison with the Facilities Team.
Oversee cricket equipment and inventory, ensuring resources are organised, maintained and available for training sessions and fixtures.
Coordinate match-day logistics, including confirming fixtures and venues, supporting teams and coaches and arranging venue setup and pack-down.
Maintain accurate participation, results and program records, support cricket events and presentation evenings and contribute to program reporting and reviews.
The successful candidate should possess
Previous experience in sports administration, competition coordination, school sport or a similar position.
A strong understanding of cricket programs, fixtures and competition administration.
Knowledge of the GPS sporting system or experience within a school environment, which will be highly regarded.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, schedules and deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with students, parents, coaches, staff and external stakeholders.
Experience maintaining accurate databases, records, team information and sporting results.
A sound understanding of Child Safety, compliance and risk management requirements.
A proactive, collaborative and flexible approach, including the ability to attend evening and weekend fixtures and events.
