We are seekingan experienced commercial diver to join our team on a full time, ongoing basis.DutiesSwim underwater to locate, identify and hand-collect live aquarium fish and live coral speciesOperate safely under commercial diving conditions in ocean environments, including variable weather and current conditionsUse appropriate collection techniques to minimise damage to marine life and reefMaintain and check diving equipment, air supply, and safety gear prior to and following each diveWork as part of a small vessel-based team, including surface support and vessel duties as requiredSort,
handle and prepare collected specimens for holding and transport in line with animal welfare and biosecurity requirementsMaintain accurate dive logs and catch recordsComply with all workplace health and safety, fisheries, and environmental regulatory requirementsRequirementsMinimum 3 years' recent experience in commercial or collection diving (or equivalent trade qualification)Current dive certification (commercial diving ticket or equivalent recognised qualification)Current first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong swimming ability and physical fitness for sustained underwater workAbility to work variable hours based on weather and tide conditions
