With a team of 550 employees and growing, we currently operate over 50 school age care and early years education services across Catholic schools in the Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains region.Reporting to the IT Business Systems Manager, the IT Support Engineer is responsible for delivering end-to-end IT support and administration across the organisation.
The role provides both frontline and advanced (Level 2) technical support, resolving complex issues, maintaining system reliability, and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services.The IT Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring technology services operate effectively across a geographically dispersed environment.
This includes troubleshooting across devices, identity, applications, and network layers; managing system configuration and administration; and supporting the delivery of IT projects and service enhancements.The role requires a proactive and solutions-focused approach, with accountability for incident resolution, problem management, and improving user experience through better processes, automation, and documentation.Desired skills and experience:Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent experience)Current Working with Children CheckCurrent Working Rights within AustraliaValid Driver's LicenceDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues across multiple systems and platformsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approachAbility to manage and prioritise multiple requests in a dynamic environmentStrong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a small IT teamProactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and service qualityAbility to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completionWillingness to travel between sites as requiredStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 and macOS environmentsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Intune and endpoint managementStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (identity and access management)Experience with IT service management tools and service desk workflowsSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, internet connectivity)Familiarity with SaaS application integration and identity federation (SSO)Understanding of IT security principles and best practicesKnowledge of IT asset lifecycle and configuration management5 or more years' experience in an IT support or engineer role, preferably in a multi-site environmentExperience supporting Microsoft 365, Intune, and up-to-date endpoint environmentsExperience with IT Service Management and IT Governance frameworksProven ability to work autonomously and deliver outcomesExperience supporting geographically dispersed usersExperience in education or community services sector (highly regarded)Community Ventures is the trading name of Catholic Diocese of Parramatta Services Limited, a not-for-profit charity supporting communities within the Parramatta Diocese.
