Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive reproductive health services to women in the Western Sydney region.About the roleWe are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our specialist practice in Westmead, NSW on a part-time basis.
This is a key position at the front line of our practice, where you will be the first point of contact for patients and play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
You will contribute to creating a welcoming, professional environment whilst managing administrative tasks that support both our clinical and business operations.
This role is essential to the success of our practice and directly impacts patient satisfaction and experience.Key responsibilitiesGreeting patients with a warm, professional manner and ensuring they feel welcome and comfortableManaging patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming and rescheduling consultations efficientlyProcessing patient registrations and maintaining accurate patient records and documentationHandling telephone enquiries professionally and directing calls to appropriate staff membersProcessing payments and managing billing procedures in accordance with practice protocolsCoordinating with clinical staff to ensure patient flow is managed smoothly throughout the practiceMaintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy and health information regulationsManaging reception area organisation,
tidiness and ensuring adequate supplies are maintainedProviding administrative support to practitioners and other team members as requiredProcessing referrals and pathology requests where applicableBasic housekeeping and getting coffeee and lunch for the doctor if the doctor is busyKeeping the place immaculate and skilled after the useWhat we're looking forPrevious experience working as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role, ideally within a specialist medical practiceStrong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent patient interaction, communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous mannerProficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software (training can be provided)Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and maintain confidentialityKnowledge of medical terminology and understanding of HIPAA and privacy regulationsExcellent customer service skills and empathy when dealing with patientsReliability, punctuality and a professional approach to workFlexibility and willingness to support the team during busy periodsA current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is mandatoryA police clerance check is mandatoryWhat we offerPart-time hours that offer flexibility and work-life balanceA supportive, collaborative team environment with a strong focus on professional developmentOpportunity to work within a specialist medical practice with exposure to women's healthcareCompetitive remuneration in line with industry standardsA welcoming workplace culture that values respect, professionalism and mutual supportTraining and support to ensure you succeed in your role
