Exposure to complex, mission‐critical environmentsHybrid Working Arrangements - 50% WFHContribute to a high-profile government transformation ProgramTEKsystems is looking for a Lead Cyber Security Architect to lead the development and implementation of cyber security initiatives across a large and complex enterprise environment.
This role will provide strategic security architecture leadership across major programs and projects, ensuring security is embedded into solution designs from inception through delivery.
The successful candidate will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Program Architects, project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant technology solutions.Role: Cyber Security ArchitectLocation: Sydney, NSW (Predominantly Onsite)Contract: 12 Months + Possible ExtensionWork Rights: Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Current Zealand Citizens onlyResponsibilities:Lead the development and integration of cyber security architectures and security design patterns across enterprise environments.Design, review, and govern Cloud Service Security Patterns, UX Security Models, and Common Experience Layer Security Models.Provide security architecture leadership across cloud, infrastructure, network, application, platform, and data services.Develop secure‐by‐design architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and associated security technologies.Conduct security architecture reviews, identify security gaps, and develop risk mitigation strategies.Plan, research, design, and govern secure, scalable, and reliable architectures for major ICT programs and projects.Facilitate co‐design workshops with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and project partners to ensure secure solution outcomes.Provide strategic cyber security advice to support compliance with security frameworks,
policies, standards, and governance requirements.Lead security risk assessments and ensure architecture deliverables progress through governance and compliance processes.Partner with Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment with architecture standards, patterns, and target‐state strategies.Support major incident response activities, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.Maintain security architecture standards, principles, patterns, and artefacts.Contribute to building cyber security capability and knowledge across project and operational teams.Key Requirements:Minimum 5 years of hands‐on Cyber Security experience with strong expertise in security architecture.Significant experience designing secure enterprise architectures within large and complex ICT environments.Strong background in Cloud Services, Infrastructure Architecture, and Network Architecture.Demonstrated experience delivering Cloud Service Security Patterns and secure‐by‐design solutions.Expert knowledge of Microsoft security technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID.Strong understanding of security controls, protocols, and standards across cloud, infrastructure, network, application, platform, and data layers.Experience conducting cyber security threat assessments, risk assessments, and architecture reviews.Knowledge of security frameworks and standards including ACSC ISM, ISO ***********, NIST CSF, and NIST ******.Strong understanding of architecture governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and security assurance processes.Experience evaluating emerging technologies and assessing associated business and security risks.Knowledge of architecture modelling tools and frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, UML, or SysML.Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, SABSA, TOGAF, Cloud Security, ISO *****, or similar highly regarded.
