Join a team that's shaping the future of horticulture.About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced and hands-on Nursery Manager to lead daily operations at our Lindendale Nursery.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll take ownership of everything from propagation and plant production through to staff leadership, customer order fulfilment, and R&D; support.This is a role for someone who loves being on the ground — someone who can lead a team, troubleshoot plant health issues in real time, and keep production targets on track without sacrificing quality.What You'll Be DoingOversee day-to-day nursery operations including propagation, potting, irrigation, nutrition, and dispatchManage propagation programs for Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, and other crops as required.Monitor plant health and coordinate crop protection and IPM programsLead, supervise,
and develop nursery staff and seasonal labourWork with the Plant Supply team to fulfil customer orders on time and to specificationCollaborate with R&D; Managers to support breeding programs and trial plant requirementsMaintain NIASA compliance, accurate records, and quality assurance standardsAssist with budget management, labour planning, and operational reportingWhat You'll BringProven hands-on experience in commercial nursery production — Blueberry, Rubus, or soft fruit experience highly regardedStrong propagation skills and understanding of growing, irrigation, fertigation, and substrate managementDemonstrated ability to lead and supervise teams in a production environmentSolid organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and production schedulesExperience working within NIASA or similar accreditation frameworks (preferred)Good communication skills and a collaborative working styleComputer literacy and attention to detail in record-keepingCurrent First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)Why Join Mountain Blue?
