About the Role
Smith & Co is recruiting on behalf of a well-established Australian manufacturer renowned for designing and building premium food processing equipment used by businesses across Australia and overseas. You'll play a key role in assembling high-quality, custom-built machinery from detailed engineering drawings. Working in a contemporary Crestmead workshop, you'll be involved in every stage of the build process, ensuring equipment is assembled to the highest standards before installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble custom food processing and industrial machinery
Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly plans
Install, align and fit mechanical components and assemblies
Carry out mechanical adjustments, testing and quality checks
Work closely with engineers and the production team to deliver completed projects
What You'll Bring
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
Previous experience in machinery assembly or manufacturing
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Strong communication skills and a proactive team-first attitude
Desirable Experience
OEM or workshop assembly experience
Conveyor systems or processing equipment
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Stainless steel machinery or food manufacturing equipment
Salary & Advantages
$55 per hour casual
