About the role

MSJ Australia is seeking an empathetic and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Townsville, QLD. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal goals and live independently. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing:
Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events
Facilitating and encouraging client participation in recreational and educational programs
Monitoring client progress and reporting any changes or concerns to the care team
Advocating for client rights and ensuring their needs are met
Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required

What we're looking for
Relevant experience in the disability or aged care sector, or a strong desire to work in this field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to providing care




Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A current Queensland driver's license and access to reliable car.
A demonstrated commitment to upholding the principles of dignity, respect, and choice for individuals with disabilities
