About the Opportunity
The Compliance Auditor will support Council's regulatory and compliance functions by ensuring development approvals, certification requirements, and legislative obligations are met.
This role is responsible for monitoring and enforcing the payment of development‐related fees, charges, and Local Infrastructure Contributions.
Working across a broad range of compliance activities, you will undertake site inspections, investigate potential breaches of development consents/certificates, maintain statutory registers and records, and prepare regulatory notices, correspondence, and evidence for legal proceedings where required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys a mix of field‐based inspections, investigations, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.
You will collaborate with internal teams, private certifiers, property owners, government agencies, and Council's legal representatives to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, development consents, and Council approvals.
The role also provides the opportunity to contribute to policy and procedure development, improve compliance systems and processes, and deliver high‐quality customer service while supporting positive planning and development outcomes for the community.
What We Offer
Permanent, Full time – 70 hours per fortnight
Salary from $84,****** - $97,****** per annum plus 12% superannuation

What We Are Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Planning, Building Surveying or Government Investigations/Regulatory services
Knowledge and/or experience in investigation, building certification and/or planning functions




Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and relevant Regulations, particularly in relation to breaches of development consent, including development contributions
Demonstrated experience in project work delivering process improvements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative, practical solutions to complex issues
Class C Drivers Licence
