HMG is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our high-performing workshop team.
This hands‐on role suits a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in precision machining, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
In this role, you will program, set, and operate CNC machine tools to manufacture high-quality components to specification.
This role is ideal for a tradesperson who thrives in a precision-focused, safety-conscious setting and enjoys working on varied and challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines using machine controls and CAM softwareInterpret engineering drawings and specificationsCarry out fitting, machining,



and assembly work as requiredEdit and optimise programs to improve cycle times and product qualityConduct quality checks using precision measuring equipmentMaintain machines, tooling, and a safe, clean work areaWork collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and team members
About You
Trade qualification (Certificate III Engineering) as a Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker (or equivalent)Demonstrated experience as a CNC Programmer/MachinistDemonstrate CAM experience, MasterCam high desired.Hands‐on experience with FANUC, Okuma control systemsStrong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, and cutting parametersAbility to work from detailed drawings and tight tolerancesCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementStrong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail
