Together, we can make a difference.What You'll DoAs a Payroll Project Specialist, you'll be supporting the People Services Project team with various payroll transformation projects.
You'll contribute your payroll knowledge and work with a wide range of key stakeholders including employees themselves, People Systems Team as well as the Finance, Internal compliance team and the broader People & Culture function.You will also be responsible for activities including EBA and Award test script writing, System testing for new payroll changes, LSL reconciliations and any associated remediation calculations, payroll system enhancements and testing, and automation initiatives.
The role is required to have understanding of the T&A; system function and be a support to the payroll BAU team and management.This role is 12-month maximum term contract role offering a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Writing effective Payroll/Award/EA test scriptsPerforming scenario testing and UAT testing on End-to-End process and Award/EBA, leave Policy rules,
etcPreparing and performing Training as SME on the product.Leave reconciliations from legacy systemsInvestigating and testing of new system changes in payroll systemMonitoring of Legislation changes and update system processes and policies where requiredCalculation of Awards (remediation work)Understanding of payroll compliance and all payroll assessment are met the legislative compliance requirements onStakeholder Management, Communication Management to foster good relationships across the businessContinuance of business customer relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and advocate improved utilisation of information systemsActively participate and contribute to any internal team development activities (e.g. knowledge sharing sessions, peer reviews, One on One training, showcases)What You'll BringTertiary qualification in Accounting – Finance (desirable not essential)Experience working with ERP Payroll systems and time and attendance systems such as Dayforce, Deputy, Riteq, Kronos5 years' experience within a payroll officer / Specialist roleIntermediate to advanced experience with the Microsoft product suiteAbility to navigate and use payroll systems to extract pay rules, data and to undertake payroll remediation workConsiderable payroll process and systems experience,
ideally with experience in implementing payroll systemsAdvanced investigative skillswith strong numerical & analytical skillsStrong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, to provide effective presentation and explanation of payroll mattersFlexibility in managing changing priorities, deadlines and opportunitiesWork effectively in a collaborative team setting, as well as independentlyAdaptable to change and able to learn new applications, systems, and processes quickly.Ability to identify risk, solve problems and manage multiple prioritiesHigh levels of resilience and the ability to work in high pressured situationsWhat's in it for you?
