Take the lead in delivering safe, sustainable and customer-focused tree management services that enhance our city's streets, parks and neighbourhoods at Georges River Council.
Are you an experienced arborist ready to take the next step into leadership?
As our Team Leader – Tree Management, you'll lead a dedicated team responsible for managing and protecting Council's valuable tree assets across public and private land.
This is an opportunity to combine your technical arboricultural expertise with people leadership, ensuring safe, sustainable and customer-focused tree management that enhances our urban canopy and creates greener, healthier places for the community.
In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tree Management Team, providing expert advice on complex arboricultural matters, leading proactive maintenance and tree planting programs, and driving continuous improvement across service delivery.
You'll work closely with residents, developers, contractors and internal stakeholders while managing budgets, contracts and operational priorities.

Salary from $101,******- $117,****** per annum plus 12% superannuation

What We Are Looking For




Tertiary qualification in Arboriculture at AQF Level 5 (Diploma)
Current White Card (General Construction Induction)
Current Class C Driver Licence
Demonstrated experience in tree management and arboriculture operations
Highly developed customer service, communication (written and verbal), stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing tree maintenance and asset management programs, including budget planning, resource allocation and performance monitoring
Extensive experience undertaking tree risk assessments and identifying public safety risks within parks, streetscapes, open space and natural bushland environments
Experience managing contractors, procurement processes and service delivery contracts
Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing staff, including performance management, workforce planning and employee development
Well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
