1st Choice Mechanical Repairs is a well-established, family-owned mechanical workshop that has been servicing the Illawarra community for over 20 years.
We pride ourselves on honest workmanship, excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive team environment.
We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced mechanic to join our team.
This role would suit someone who is confident in their abilities, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working in a skilled but relaxed workshop.
About the Role
You will be responsible for a range of mechanical servicing and repair tasks, including diagnostics and general workshop duties.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while also contributing positively to our team environment.
As expected, all facets of mechanical repairs will be conducted; tyre fitting will also be part of the criteria on occasion.
Ideally, the candidate will have a pink slip accreditation (Not mandatory but desirable).
The candidate will preferably have a minimum of six (6) years of experience as a mechanic and be at least two years out of their apprenticeship, with current workplace experience still valid.
Knowledge of petrol and diesel vehicles will be essential,
and across all makes and models would be desirable too.
The business operates Monday to Friday, and no weekend work would be expected.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs at a high level of expertise
Confident and accurate vehicle diagnostics
Tyre changing and wheel balancing (desirable but not essential)
Wheel alignments (desirable but not essential)
Pink slip inspections (desirable but not essential)
Maintaining workshop cleanliness and organisation
Providing friendly and professional customer service when required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic, minimum 6 years
Ability to work unsupervised and manage your workload
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Experience with tyre fitting, balancing and wheel alignments
A team-focused attitude with good communication skills
Current Australian driver's licence
