Medclinic CBD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team in Sydney, NSW.
This is a full-time position based at our CBD location.
As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within our general medical and surgical practice.
You will work collaboratively with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes whilst maintaining a professional and supportive clinic environment.
This role is essential to our commitment to providing excellent healthcare services to our patients.Key responsibilitiesProviding comprehensive nursing care to patients attending the practice for medical and surgical consultationsTaking patient histories, recording vital signs and conducting preliminary patient assessmentsAssisting doctors with clinical examinations and minor surgical proceduresAdministering medications, vaccinations and other treatments as directed by medical practitionersWound care management and dressing changes in accordance with clinical protocolsPerforming venepuncture and other specimen collection proceduresMaintaining accurate and detailed patient records and documentationProviding health education and advice to patients regarding their conditions and treatmentEnsuring compliance with infection control policies and standard precautionsSupporting the efficient operation of the clinic by managing equipment, supplies and scheduling as requiredResponding promptly to patient queries and concerns whilst maintaining confidentialityWhat we're looking forCurrent registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered NurseA relevant nursing qualification (Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent)Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a nurse in a general practice, medical clinic or hospital general medical or surgical settingStrong clinical knowledge and practical skills in patient assessment,



vital sign monitoring and wound managementProficiency in venepuncture and specimen collection techniquesExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients from diverse backgroundsOrganisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectivelyA commitment to maintaining professional standards and adhering to nursing codes of conductCurrent First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain these)Working knowledge of practice management software and electronic health records systemsAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamPreferred: Experience in general practice nursing or primary healthcare settingsWhat we offerAt Medclinic CBD, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing and career development of our staff.
