Reports To: Technical & Workshop Controller Role Overview The Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards.
This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using approved diagnostic tools and equipment Repair or replace defective components, including high-voltage systems where applicable Conduct vehicle inspections and identify potential issues or required preventative maintenance Complete all job cards, reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, including procedures for high-voltage and EV systems Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment Keep up to date with technical training, product updates,
and new technologies Liaise with service advisors and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction Assist with Pre Delivery Vehicles as required You may be required to perform other duties not specifically listed in this job description, as reasonably directed, and consistent with the scope and level of the position.
Skills & Qualifications Relevant qualification in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Experience as an automotive technician (EV or hybrid experience preferred) Solid diagnostic and problem‐solving skills Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostic software Ability to follow technical procedures and manufacturer guidelines Effective communication and teamwork skills Compliance & Safety Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements Follow all manufacturer guidelines and technical procedures Ensure safe handling of tools, equipment, and high-voltage systems Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately Performance Expectations Deliver high-quality workmanship with minimal rework Meet productivity and efficiency targets Maintain accurate records and documentation Contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement Additional Requirements Valid driver's licence Ability to work flexible hours as required Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
