Zoom Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Boilermaker to join a leading heavy industrial and manufacturing operation based in Western Sydney.
This is a hands-on role suited to a skilled tradesperson with strong fabrication, welding and maintenance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced heavy industry environment.
You'll join a high-performing, safety focussed maintenance team supporting plant reliability, shutdown work, structural repairs and ongoing improvement projects across site.
Location: Rooty Hill
Pay Rate: $***** - $***** per hour (based on experience + OT rates)
Shifts: 6AM, Monday to Friday Ongoing Rosters (Overtime available) - Wednesday longer hours required due to weekly shutdown

About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Fabrication, welding and repair of plant equipment
Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
Structural steel repairs including platforms, chutes, ducts and hoppers, pipe fabrication, foundations and other heavy engineering maintenance
Reading and interpreting fabrication and engineering drawings
Welding using MIG, TIG and Stick processes
Oxy cutting, gouging and heavy fabrication work
Working on piping systems and structural components




Recording maintenance activities in SAP or CMMS systems
Liaising with fitters, electricians and operations teams
Following permit systems, isolations and site safety procedures
Participating in weekly maintenance day activities where 12-hour shifts may be required
Remaining available for after-hours call-ins for emergent breakdown and maintenance works when required
About You
To be successful, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator (Cert III)
Minimum 3 years' experience within heavy industry or manufacturing
Strong welding capability across MIG, TIG and Stick welding
Experience with oxy cutting and gouging
Structural fabrication and repair experience
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience working with heavy plate and structural steel
Strong understanding of plant equipment and piping systems
Excellent safety awareness and risk management mindset
Solid communication skills and team-oriented attitude
Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
Exposure to SAP or CMMS systems
Flexibility to work additional hours and varying schedules in line with business requirements
Important Availability Requirement
Successful applicants must:
Be available to work throughout the December and January period
Be flexible to work 12-hour shifts on weekly down days (Wednesdays and Thursdays) where required
Be available for overtime and after-hours emergent works as operational needs arise
Desirable Tickets & Experience
Highly regarded:
Dogging, Rigging, EWP or Franna licences
Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
Shutdown maintenance experience
