Youth Worker-Residential Care & Emergency Placements
Location: Townsville, QLD
Award: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS)
Employment Type: Casual with future potential for Permanent
We are growing our team of Townsville Youth Workers - several roles available.
Pay/Remuneration
Salary: $***** – $***** per hour (SCHADS Award, Level *******) plus superannuation, with sleepover shifts attracting a sleepover allowance as per the SCHADS Award.

LBIC Program Overview
Our Residential Care and Emergency Placement programs support children and young people who require immediate, high-level care, often following trauma, crisis or complex risk.
We provide stable, closely supervised environments where safety is the foundation, underpinned by robust child safety plans, structuredroutinesand consistent, trauma-informed support.
Our staff are trained to respond to high-riskbehaviourswith care,consistencyand transparent boundaries, helping young people build the trust and stability they need to move forward.
Every placement is guided by anindividualisedapproach to risk management and case planning, ensuring each young person's specific needs and safety requirements are met.
Who We're Looking For
This role suits an experienced Youth Worker who is ready to hit the ground running.




You will bring:
At least 12 months' experience working with youth
Experience working with high-risk clients
Experience withintheresidential caresector
An understanding of trauma-informed practice and positivebehavioursupportframeworks
Exposure to child safety principles and practice
Confidentnavigating Microsoft365& CTARSsoftware
Ifyou'reearly in your career but have transferable experience, for example, a relevant qualification combined withhandsonexperience from another industry,we'dstill love to hear from you.

Day-to-day responsibilities
Meeting the daily needs of young people in care, whilemaintaininga clean and safe environment
Following structured schedules and routines that give young people consistency and stability
Supporting each young person's individual goals, in collaboration with the wider team
Completing administrative tasks, including shift logs, incidentreportsand medication documentation via CTARS
Working a range of shifts, including mornings, days, afternoons,eveningsand sleepovers




Mandatory Requirements
LBIC is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, all offers of employment are subject to rigorous screening
Proof of permanent residency (passport, birthcertificateor citizenship certificate) or a valid visa, if applicable)
An active Working with Children (Blue Card),withno negative notice
Current QLD Open Driver'sLicence
Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification
A National Police Check issued within the last3months
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or a similar qualification (completed or currently enrolled)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
Capacity to work well both independently and as part of a team,in a fast-paced environment
Commitment toprivacy and confidentiality obligations
Cultural awareness and respect across diverse backgrounds
Genuine,demonstratedexperience in youth work or residential care, this role is not suited to candidates withouta track recordin the field
Strongunderstanding of child safety plans, with a commitment toalways following safety measures and procedures
Genuine flexibility to work acrossa variety of different shifts (days, evenings, sleepovers,weekendsand public holidays) with flexibility to adapt to roster adjustments, including the ability to accept shifts at short notice.
