Utech is an established Sydney electrical contractor delivering major projects across the commercial, health, education, industrial, residential and aged-care sectors.We are seeking an Electrical Project Coordinator to support our Project Managers and site teams in delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.The opportunityThis role would suit someone with practical electrical experience who wants to develop a career in project coordination and management.An Australian electrician looking to move from the tools into an office and project-based roleAn overseas-qualified electrician with commercial construction experienceAn electrical supervisor, engineer or technician seeking Australian project experienceAn existing Project Coordinator wanting to join an established electrical contractorAn Australian electrical licence is not essential for this position.
However, you must have a solid understanding of electrical installations, construction processes and electrical contracting.The position will be primarily based at our Milperra office, with some potential attendance at project sites across Sydney.Key responsibilitiesAssist Project Managers with the daily coordination of electrical projectsLiaise with builders, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and site teamsReview electrical drawings, specifications and project documentationPrepare and maintain RFIs, variation registers, procurement schedules and project correspondenceCoordinate material orders, technical submissions, samples and shop drawingsTrack project actions, programme requirements and outstanding informationAssist with cost tracking,
progress claims and variation documentationAttend project and coordination meetings and follow up assigned actionsSupport quality documentation, including ITPs, testing records and inspection requirementsAssist with commissioning, defects, handover documentation and operation and maintenance manualsMaintain accurate project records through Procore, Aconex and other construction systemsAbout youTo be successful, you will have:Practical experience or qualifications in the electrical industry, gained in Australia or overseasA solid understanding of commercial construction and electrical contractingThe ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specificationsExcellent spoken and written communication skillsStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and OutlookGood organisation, time management and attention to detailThe confidence to communicate with builders, consultants, suppliers and site personnelA proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasksThe ability to manage multiple priorities and follow matters through to completionExperience with Procore, Aconex, HammerTech, Bluebeam or similar construction platforms will be advantageous, but training can be provided.What Utech offersA permanent full time position with an established electrical contractorExposure to substantial commercial construction projectsSupport and mentoring from experienced Project Managers and senior managementOpportunities to develop your career and commercial, technical and construction knowledgeA professional and supportive team environmentCompetitive remuneration based on experience and capabilityAll applications will be treated confidentially.
