Controls Manager - Corporate (Civil, Resources & Defence Projects)

Northern suburbs location (head office based)
$200,000 - $270,000 + super (depending on experience)

A well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure across civil, resources, and defence sectors is seeking an experienced Controls Manager to join their corporate team.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing project controls across a diverse portfolio, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and performance in planning, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will:
Lead and standardise project controls functions across multiple projects
Oversee planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance reporting
Drive accurate forecasting and financial governance across the portfolio
Support project teams with best-practice systems, tools, and processes
Provide strategic insights to improve project delivery outcomes
Ensure alignment with contract requirements, risk frameworks, and value engineering principles

About You
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar
Minimum 10 years' experience in project controls, cost management,



or governance within civil, engineering, or resources sectors
At least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and systems
Robust expertise in planning and scheduling, with hands-on use of Primavera P6 and MS Project (essential)
Solid understanding of contract conditions, risk management, and value engineering
Proven ability to operate at a corporate/portfolio level across multiple projects
