Australian Ecological Restoration Services – Toowoomba QLDAustralian Ecological Restoration Services (AERS) is seeking to engage up to two (2) full time conservation team members to support our growing Toowoomba based team.

Ideally, we are seeking to bring on board:Conservation team memberOur small team works across wide-ranging and exciting project sites, including environmental offset sites, conservation dedication areas, and urban and infrastructure development projects.
The majority of our day to day projects are within 50km of Toowoomba, however we do sometimes work further afield requiring travel and overnight accommodation – all expenses paid!
We are looking for team members with a passion for ecological restoration works, who can work well within small teams, and who enjoy working outdoors.Our services include:Weed management and treatment (including bush regeneration)Tree planting and maintenanceLandscape wateringHydromulchingErosion and sediment controlEnvironmental rehabilitation managementThese roles will be based daily out of our Rockville based operations facility, with suitable work vehicles provided for daily work tasks.For this role we are seeking someone ideally with an existing qualification in conservation and ecosystem management (min. Cert III), and a minimum of 2 years in natural areas work, plant identification or similar.
Candidates with alternative qualifications, supervision experience or skills are also encouraged to apply.Ideally,
a candidate for this role would have also have all or some of the below:ACDC – commercial operator's licenceTraining and experience in the use of chainsawsFirst aid trainingConstruction white cardExperience in reading and implementing ecological restoration plansKnowledge and skills in identifying native and non-native plant species typically found across southern QueenslandWhat we are offering for this roleWe are looking to support this role with a competitive renumeration package, training, and opportunities for growth within the business, including:A salary package substantially above award rate under the Gardening and Landscaping Award (MA******) level 4 – 5.Provision of a work provided vehicle (personal use up to 75km of home base), phone and laptop computerOpportunities for additional training and/or qualificationsTraining and obtainment of your heavy rigid truck licence (where not already obtained)Paid leave on your birthdayFortnightly rostered day off (RDO)Conservation team memberThere is no mandatory minimum qualifications or experience requirements for this role, however relevant experience and/or qualifications in conservation and ecosystem management, or horticulture will be favourably considered (i.e. cert iii in conservation and ecosystem management).
Candidates applying for this role who do not currently hold a minimum cert iii in conservation and ecosystem management (or suitable alternative) must be prepared to obtain this qualification in **** (paid for by AERS), including up to two (2) days per week study at Tafe Queensland's Mt Gravatt campus.Working under the supervision of the conservation supervisor, logistics manager and principal bush regenerator,
this role will undertake day to day bush regeneration activities including weed management, revegetation, watering, native plant identification and hydromulching works.An ideal candidate for this role would have all or some (in addition to the above) of the below, or a willingness to obtain:ACDC – commercial operator's licenceTraining and experience in the use of chainsawsConstruction white cardFirst aid trainingExperience in reading and implementing ecological restoration plansKnowledge and skills in identifying native and non-native plant species typically found across southern QueenslandWhat we are offering for this roleWe are looking to support this role with a competitive renumeration package, training, and opportunities for growth within the business, including:A salary package above award rate under the Gardening and Landscaping Award (MA******) – introductory level, and level 1-3.Opportunities for additional training and/or qualificationsProvision of a work provided phoneTraining and obtainment of your heavy rigid truck licence (where not already obtained)Paid leave on your birthdayFortnightly rostered day off (RDO)Suitability for workOur projects and work tasks often necessitate physical and repetitive work tasks.
