About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Facilities Coordinator to support operations within a Defence environment in Williamstown, NSW.
Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities, contractor management, compliance monitoring, CMMS administration, reporting, and operational support across a secure and controlled site environment.
This is a fast-paced operational role suited to someone who enjoys working across maintenance coordination, contractor engagement, compliance processes, and stakeholder management while maintaining a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and operational readiness.
Security Clearance Requirement
This position requires the successful applicant to hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
Under the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) requirements, applicants must be Australian citizens and generally have a minimum of five (5) years' continuous residence in Australia to be eligible for NV1 clearance.
Eligibility is assessed by the Australian Government and includes background, character, identity, and employment history checks.




Key Responsibilities
Coordinate planned, reactive, corrective, and essential services maintenance activitiesManage and monitor contractor performance, compliance, permits, and site access requirementsCoordinate work orders, maintenance records, and CMMS updatesSupport operational reporting, documentation, and compliance activitiesAssist with minor works and site operational activitiesMonitor contractor WHS compliance, permits, SWMS, and operational proceduresSupport inspections, audits, and risk management activitiesBuild strong relationships with contractors, technicians, and client representativesEnsure operational deliverables are completed within required KPIs and timeframesSupport a safe, compliant, and qualified working environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in facilities management, maintenance coordination, or building operationsExperience coordinating contractors and maintenance service providersExposure to CMMS systems and operational reporting environmentsStrong organisational and time management skillsAbility to work within structured and compliance-driven environmentsStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience working within Defence, government, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated environments will be highly regardedUnderstanding of WHS systems, permits, and contractor compliance processesIntermediate Microsoft Office skills
