We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters / Maintenance Technicians to support a planned shutdown and overhaul of high-speed filling and packaging equipment at a food manufacturing facility in Dandenong.
This chance suits tradespeople with experience in the food & beverage manufacturing industry, particularly those familiar with high-speed packaging and filling equipment shutdowns.
Key Responsibilities
Overhaul and replace mechanical components including bearings, seals, bushings, nozzles, belts, and other wear parts.
Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, and shutdown maintenance works to schedule.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
Maintain strict GMP and food safety standards, including:
Clean-as-you-go practices
Contamination prevention
Correct handling of lubricants, tooling, and parts
Work safely and effectively within a team setting.
Skills & Experience
Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner preferred
Previous shutdown maintenance experience highly regarded
Experience within food, beverage, packaging, or filling environments
Previous experience working on high-speed filling equipment highly regarded
Sound understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
Solid focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail
Project Details
10 positions available
Shutdown scheduled from 20th August to 30th August
Day shift only
Approximately 60–80 hours per week
Project may finish earlier if shutdown works are completed ahead of schedule
Competitive shutdown rates
Travel and accommodation provided for non-Melbourne based personnel
Job Type: Subcontract
Pay: Up to $100.00 per hour
