About Your Role
As a Senior Medical Officer within the Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC), you will provide high‑quality urgent care for patients with lower acuity illnesses and injuries, delivering protected, timely, and patient‑centred care in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver expert assessment and management of minor injuries and illnesses
Provide high‑quality urgent care in a multidisciplinary team environment
Lead clinical decision‑making and promote evidence‑based practice
Ensure safe, accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient handover
Support patient transitions back to primary care and community providers
Mentor and supervise junior medical staff and trainees
Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management
About You
You are an experienced medical practitioner who is passionate about delivering high‑quality urgent care and improving access to healthcare within the community.
Skills & Experience
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Strong experience in urgent care, emergency medicine or general practice
Excellent clinical assessment and decision‑making skills
Commitment to patient‑centred, evidence‑based care
Strong leadership and mentoring capability
Advanced skills in Emergency Medicine, Indigenous Health, Anaesthesia or Paediatrics highly desirable
