Join a Leading Level 1 High Voltage Electrical Infrastructure Team
Highco Electrics, based in Yennora, is a trusted Level 1 and Level 2 electrical infrastructure contractor proudly servicing the Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy networks across NSW.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our operations based in Yennora.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with proven experience leading civil crews on underground electrical infrastructure projects.
As the Civil Leading Hand, you will oversee day-to-day civil construction activities while working alongside your crew on Level 1 electrical infrastructure projects.
Working closely with the Foreman/Supervisor and Project Managers, you will coordinate site operations to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise civil crews while actively participating in all physical construction activities on site.Perform hands-on civil works, including trench excavation, conduit installation, pit installation, cable installation and hauling, backfilling, reinstatement, and general laboring duties as required.Work alongside the crew throughout the day, setting the standard for productivity, quality, and protected work practices.Coordinate daily work activities, allocate tasks, and ensure work is completed efficiently and to the program.Read and interpret construction drawings, service plans, DBYD information, and utility standards to guide construction activities.Operate and work safely around plant and equipment, assisting with excavation, spotting,



and manual handling where required.Supervise excavation and construction works around live underground electrical and other utility services.Ensure all works comply with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, client specifications, and WHS requirements.Monitor workmanship, productivity, and quality, rectifying issues as they arise.Conduct daily pre-starts, implement SWMS, and promote a strong safety-first culture.Liaise with Supervisors, Project Managers, subcontractors and Client/network representativesMentor and train crew members through hands-on leadership and maintain a positive, productive work environment.Inspect, maintain, and ensure the safe use of plant, tools, equipment, and company assets.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Civil Leading Hand within the Level 1 Electrical Infrastructure industryExperience working on underground electrical distribution networksStrong knowledge of civil construction methods for electrical infrastructureAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and underground service plansExcellent leadership, communication and organisational skillsStrong commitment to workplace safety and qualityAbility to lead crews and deliver projects efficientlyReliable, motivated and able to work effectively under pressure
