As an Optometrist, you will play a vital role in our commitment to providing exceptional vision care and optical services to our community, whilst contributing to the success and reputation of our practice.Key responsibilitiesConducting comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments for patients of all agesDiagnosing and managing common eye conditions and refractive errorsPrescribing and fitting spectacles and contact lenses to meet individual patient needsProviding advice on eye health, vision correction options and preventative careRecording accurate patient information and maintaining detailed clinical recordsRecognising and referring patients with reliable eye conditions to appropriate specialistsBuilding strong relationships with patients to ensure their satisfaction and loyaltyContributing to the overall success of the practice through excellent customer service and professionalismStaying current with developments in optometry and optical technologyWhat we're looking forA valid Australian Optometry qualification and current registration with the Optometry Board of AustraliaA willingness to obtain or maintain Ophthalmology Therapeutic Goods Authorisation (TGA) if required by the roleStrong clinical examination skills and the ability to make accurate diagnosesExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and colleaguesA patient-centred approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality eye careThe ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative teamA professional and friendly demeanour that reflects our practice valuesFlexibility to work part-time or full-time hours but must be available to work 1 weekend dayPrevious experience in a busy optical practice is advantageous
