Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and forms part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, and presently has Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 cohorts. Each year the school adds to its growing Year 7 cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.
The Role
The successful applicant should deliver the school curriculum in a way that promotes robust student engagement, progress, and achievement. The teacher will model evidence‑based planning and instructional practice to support the learning needs of all students. The English teacher should support the development of programs that enhance 21st century learning and work collaboratively to create conditions where high expectations and high‑quality teaching thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
Deliver engaging and relevant units of work that promote deep learning.
Work collaboratively with all staff and the broader school community to create positive social relationships.
Utilise flexible learning spaces to personalise learning for students.
Support the development of a positive culture within a foundation learning area.
Qualifications and Experience
Australian or Recent Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Completed WA Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
Teaching experience, experience in senior school courses highly regarded.
Strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
Commitment to supporting the development of programs relevant, engaging, and catering for the learning of all students.
