We are expanding our Engineering Department and are seeking dedicated, handson professionals to join us in two key roles: Towerperson and Handyperson.
Both positions play an essential part in maintaining the exceptional standards our guests expect.About the RolesAs a key member of our Engineering team, you will ensure the smooth operation, presentation, and upkeep of guest rooms and frontofhouse areas.
This role suits someone who is detailfocused, servicedriven, and confident performing general maintenance tasks across multiple trades.Key ResponsibilitiesGuest room maintenance — Attend and complete guest room maintenance requests promptly and professionallyGeneral repairs — Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance tasks (no special licences required)Ventilation cleaning — Clean and maintain AC coils, filters, ducting,



and airhandling unitsTeam support — Assist Shift Engineers and tradespersons as neededPreventative maintenance — Carry out scheduled maintenance tasksDaily reporting — Record completed work, hours, and materials usedPlant room upkeep — Maintain cleanliness and organisation of Engineering spacesTool and asset care — Ensure proper handling and security of tools and consumablesWhat we're looking forPrevious experience in general maintenance, facilities, or hotel engineering (preferred)Basic skills across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.)Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood problem-solving skills and a proactive approachExcellent time management and communication skillsFlexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidayWhy Join Shangri-La Sydney?
