This is a role for someone who wants to do more than keep systems running — it is an opportunity to make technology easier, smarter and more useful for the people who rely on it every day.About the roleReporting to the Chief Financial Officer, located at our Sydney CBD Head Office, you will take ownership of United Fasteners' IT environment across systems, networks, devices and core business platforms.
You will be trusted to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, support staff across the business, work with external providers and help guide sensible improvements that make a real operational difference.This role would suit someone who is hands‐on, approachable and commercially aware — someone who can solve technical issues, explain things clearly and build strong relationships with people who may not have a technical background.What you'll be doingTake ownership of the IT roadmap and help prioritise improvements that support the business and its growth plans.Manage IT infrastructure, networks, systems, endpoint environments and business applications across the branch network.Keep critical systems reliable, secure and available so teams can work efficiently and customers continue to receive great service.Support business continuity, backup, recovery and disaster management practices.Lead cyber security, access controls, MFA,



identity management, patching, monitoring, compliance and staff awareness initiatives.Manage vendors, service providers, hardware, software, licensing, contracts and service‐level performance.Identify practical ways to reduce manual work, improve workflows and make systems easier for staff to use.Explore sensible automation and AI opportunities that can improve productivity, accuracy and decision‐making.Provide hands‐on support, troubleshooting, documentation and guidance where required.Partner with senior leaders, branch managers and staff to understand business needs and recommend practical technology solutions.About youYou are likely to be someone who enjoys being close to the business, not hidden away from it.
You like solving problems, improving how things work and helping people get the most out of technology.
You are calm under pressure, clear in your communication and confident working with both technical providers and non‐technical stakeholders.Experience leading or owning IT within a mid‐sized, multi‐site distribution, manufacturing, wholesale or similar operational environment.Robust hands‐on capability across infrastructure, networks, systems administration, Microsoft environments, cyber security and business applications.Experience improving systems, processes or workflows in a practical business environment.A positive understanding of cyber security, access management, system reliability and operational support.An interest in automation,
