Primo Group Services is seeking a Lead Audio Visual Technician to join our growing team in Prestons, NSW.
This is a full-time position where you will take a leadership role in managing audio visual installations, maintenance, and technical support across our diverse client portfolio.
You will be responsible for overseeing technical projects, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a team whilst maintaining hands‐on involvement with complex audio visual systems and installations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise commercial audio visual installation projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.Provide technical leadership, mentoring, training, and support to junior technicians to develop their skills and capabilities.Install, integrate, configure, test, commission, and maintain audio visual systems across a variety of client environments.Perform advanced fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting across audio, video, control, networking, and supporting infrastructure.Install, terminate, test, label, and verify AV cabling infrastructure and ensure end-to-end signal flow integrity.Build, patch, configure, and maintain equipment racks, ensuring high standards of cable management, presentation, and serviceability.Interpret and work from schematics, architectural drawings, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and project documentation to deliver accurate installations.Configure network-connected AV equipment, including IP addressing, device settings, hardware switches, operating modes, amplifier configurations, and related system parameters.Maintain accurate project documentation, technical records, as-built drawings, test results,
defect reports, and project closeout documentation.Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.Conduct preventative maintenance, service inspections, and system upgrades to maximise system reliability and performance.Ensure all works are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and company procedures.Stay current with emerging AV technologies, industry best practices, and ongoing professional development opportunities.What we're looking forMinimum 5 years' experience in commercial audio visual installation, including experience in a Lead or Supervisory Technician role.Proven ability to lead installation projects and independently complete AV installation, configuration and troubleshooting activities.Strong knowledge of commercial AV systems, including audio, video, control systems, conferencing technologies, networking and cabling infrastructure.Experience working with a range of leading AV manufacturers and technology platforms.Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills,
with a strong focus on quality and safety.Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.Current White Card and Open Cabling Registration.Current Working Safely at Heights and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification (or equivalent).
