The RoleWe are seeking a Workshop Technician to join our State Government client based in Toowoomba.
This is a casual full-time opportunity through to September, with the potential for extension.The role supports the production and fit-out of mobile response trailers through hands-on workshop work, equipment installation, basic low-voltage wiring, painting, and general maintenance activities.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the assembly, modification, and fit-out of mobile response trailers.Perform basic fabrication tasks such as measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling components.Carry out painting and finishing work on trailers and related equipment.Complete low-voltage wiring, basic electronic tasks, and equipment installations.Operate workshop equipment and hand tools, including grinders, saws, drill presses,
and other general workshop machinery.Conduct general workshop maintenance and housekeeping duties.Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work setting in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.Support other workshop activities as required.About You To be successful in this role, you will have:Experience in a workshop, maintenance, assembly, or trade assistant environment.Exposure to basic fabrication, mechanical assembly, or maintenance tasks.Experience using hand tools and workshop machinery.Basic low-voltage wiring or electrical installation experience is desirable.Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.A current C-Class Driver Licence.
