The position will commence on the 1st of February **** for a period of 12 months.
The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of inpatient admissions, elective and emergency surgery, outpatient consultations, teaching, research, and administrative activities.
They will also participate in transplant, organ retrieval, and vascular access surgery services and, where appropriate to their prior training and experience, may contribute to the general surgery on-call roster.
Must possess FRACS or equivalent, as well as ideally prior exposure to kidney transplantation and/or organ retrieval; desire to become a transplant surgeon and ideally be accepted onto the national transplant training program.
Applicants expecting to be awarded fellowship within 3 months are eligible to apply.
Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Selection Criteria
Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the FRACS or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable).
Sound clinical knowledge in surgery and be suitable to train in kidney and pancreas transplant surgery demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
Expertise in surgery with interests in training in kidney and pancreas transplant surgery.
Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:
