We require a Cook to join our team working across Penrith, Northmead and other venues under Maze Group.
This is a full time role (38 hours per week), an immediate start is available.A remuneration package of $78,000 - $82,000 per annum is on offer to the successful candidate.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while maintaining kitchen efficiency, food safety standards, and customer satisfaction.
Key duties include:Examining ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability before usePreparing ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, seasoning and portioning food before cookingPreparing and cooking a range of menu items using appropriate methods, including grilling, frying, baking, roasting, boiling and steamingRegulating the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipmentSeasoning food during preparation and cooking to achieve the required taste and qualityFollowing established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards to ensure consistencyPortioning and plating meals and adding sauces, gravies,
garnishes and other accompanimentsMonitoring food during cooking to ensure it is properly prepared and cooked to the required standardCoordinating food preparation and cooking to ensure meals are served efficiently, particularly during busy service periodsPreparing meals to meet customer dietary requirements, allergies and special requestsStoring food in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities and ensuring food is correctly labelled, dated and rotatedMaintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations, cooking equipment, utensils and food storage areasComplying with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirementsAssisting with monitoring food supplies, estimating food requirements and reporting low stock levelsReceiving deliveries and checking the quantity, quality and condition of ingredients and suppliesMinimising food waste through appropriate preparation, portion control and storage practicesAssisting with the preparation of menus, daily specials and seasonal dishes where requiredProviding guidance and basic training to junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands where requiredRequirements:Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery / Culinary Arts (Certificate III or equivalent)Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standardsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong teamwork and communication skillsCreativity and ability to adapt menus to meet customer preferences and dietary requirementsAttention to detail, reliability, and commitment to high-quality food presentationWorking at Maze Group Australia Pty Ltd offers a rewarding and supportive environment for culinary professionals.
