With continued growth, investment in systems, and a collaborative leadership team, they're looking for an Assistant Accountant who can become a genuine second-in-command to the Head of Finance.If you're an experienced Assistant Accountant who enjoys variety, takes ownership of your work, and wants to work alongside a supportive finance leader, this is an opportunity to join a well-established, stable, profitable, and growing Australian manufacturing business.Due to the nature of a manufacturing business, this role is onsite 5 days.
Occasional WFH flexibility after probation but not as a set day.The RoleWorking closely with the experienced Head of Finance,
you'll gain exposure well beyond a traditional AP/AR position while taking ownership of the day-to-day operation of the finance function.Your task and responsibilities will include:Managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functionsCompleting bank reconciliations, payment runs, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end activitiesAssisting with management reporting, BAS preparation, fixed assets, and financial reportingMaintaining customer and supplier master data while supporting ERP processesIdentifying process improvements and contribute to the continued development of the finance functionAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will need:Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance roleStrong experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableComfortable completing journals, reconciliations, and month-end processesConfidence using ERP systems together with intermediate to advanced Excel skillsInitiative to be a proactive, organised person who enjoys taking ownership and has excellent attention to detailBenefitsUp to $80,000 + SuperReport directly to an experienced and supportive Head of Finance who enjoys mentoringJoin a business that has invested heavily in improving systems and processesStable Australian manufacturing business with long-term growthFriendly team where people work together and overtime is the exception, not the expectationOpportunity to broaden your accounting experience beyond transactional financeSome work-from-home flexibility available after probationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, and genetic information.
