As a Paralegal in our team, you'll play a vital role in assessing blue card applications under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act ****.
You'll apply your legal knowledge to ensure only the right people are entrusted to work with children.We are seeking candidates for future PO2 Paralegal roles.
We will assess applications regularly as temporary vacancies arise.

Pre-employment vetting, forms part of our selection process, therefore you will be asked to submit detailed documentation prior to your commencement in a role.About the Role:As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the wellbeing of children and young people by processing and assessing blue card applications for people who have criminal histories or other assessable information.
Your legal acumen and attention to detail will be crucial in assessing applications and providing sound advice based on the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act ****.What You'll Do:Assess blue card applications in the best interests of childrenConduct risk assessments and draft clear, evidence-based recommendationsLiaise with applicants and stakeholders, gathering and recording critical informationProvide transparent legal and procedural advice to internal and external stakeholdersManage case files efficiently and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative teamContribute to a positive team environment and uphold our values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.What We're Looking For:Legal acumen and the ability to interpret and apply legislation,

What you need to know before applyingTo be eligible for employment in this position, you must hold a university degree (undergraduate and/or postgraduate including graduate certificate and graduate diploma) from a recognised tertiary institution in one of the following disciplines:LawHuman Services or social welfarePsychology or behavioural scienceYou will need to provide a copy of your qualifications, with originals sighted prior to engagement.
