Director Cardiology – Northern Heart Centre The Department of Health is seeking a Director to provide executive level leadership across the Northern Heart Centre. The role reports through Hospitals North and is accountable for strategic direction, clinical governance, and operational performance.
Responsibilities
Lead clinical and administrative functions ensuring protected, high‑quality cardiac care.
Drive service planning and development aligned with DHHS priorities.
Build and sustain relationships with clinicians, executive colleagues, and primary care partners for integrated care pathways.
Provide authoritative clinical governance oversight, including quality improvement, credentialing, and risk management.
Position Details
Fixed‑term, part‑time day worker (up to 38 hours per fortnight) starting July for three years.
Full‑time permanent Staff Specialist – Cardiology role also available for relocation candidates.
Start date: as soon as possible.
Salary & Advantages
Remuneration in line with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025: $222,789 – $319,701 per annum, pro rata.

Eligibility
Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Cardiology.
Specialist registration held, or
Registered medical practitioner on the specialist pathway as IMG, or with recognised overseas specialist qualification.
